About Rod Vandaelle: Introducing The Artisan
Rod is a Canadian woodworking and stained glass artist living in Lacombe, Alberta, Canada.
Rod has over 20 years of experience in stained glass creation, and almost 15 years of furniture building. What started as a satisfying hobby has grown into a business. Rod has created custom pieces for homes, businesses and public institutions around central Alberta.
Specializing in the unique, Rod is accustomed to designing and building projects to fit around structural fixtures, into curves, and angled walls and corners. With his experience, fitting a project to specific dimensions to fit that special space is no problem.
For woodwork projects, Rod works with solid woods of varied species, incorporating plywood when its strengths make it the most suitable. Unlike what is found in most commercially available furniture, Rod does not normally use pressed wood products (and will not use them without discussion with you.)
